Agility Seminar · Obedience Seminar · Breeder/Exhibitor Ed · Judges EdAgility Seminar - Wednesday Oct. 14, 2009
This handling seminar will be a presentation of ways to improve
the communication with your dog on the agility course. Jennifer
Crank, a follower of Linda Mecklenburg's handling, has achieved
incredible success with her dogs by being consistent and predictable
in how she communicates information.
The seminar is about handling, so dogs participating should not have
any obstacle issues, as Jenn will only be explaining her handling
system and will not go over obstacle training. Working dogs
attending must be friendly with other dogs and have reliable recalls
as multiple dogs will be in the ring working together.
The first hour of the day is a lecture explaining how the system
works, and how to build a strong foundation. The rest is practical
application using the call to heel method and how to progress once
your dog has a strong foundation.
There are unlimited auditor spots - ALL WORKING SPOTS ARE FILLED!!!!!!
Private lessons on Thursday are also FILLED!!!!!!!!!!!
Deadline for Agility Seminar reservations and full payment is September 23, 2009

Presented by JoAnne Brettschneider, the seminar will begin with

will start the day by explaining how she starts with puppies, and

We also hope to paint more dogs with the bones of the forequarters and the rear quarters for more visual demonstration of movement.
We will be using the painted LIVE DOGS to illustrate: How to measure angles, lengths of parts, height and length as well as body depth and length of leg according to our STANDARD. Movement and anatomy will be analyzed in the live dog.
The Breeders Education Committee and the attendees will hopefully engage in a Giant Rap-Session.
We hope to also cover:
Methods/Systems for Evaluation of Structure & Movement
Applying the Standard to the Live Dog
Also I want to try to focus on the importance of health testing for our Dobermans.
There will be "RINGSIDE SEATING" for all the Seminar Attendees. We will have an area at ringside where we will be able to observe the judging each day and discuss and critique the dogs. Marj Brooks, Theresa Mullen, Mike Penny, Susanne Smith and various other Mentors that are breeders/exhibitors/handlers/judges will be available and sitting here when not in the ring for Q & A and explanatory discussions as well as an evaluation of the dogs.

Exhibitor Education Seminar - Tuesday October 13, 2009 1-5pm - Beowulf Room
This year our presenter is Mr. Andy Linton.
His abilities, professionalism, and talents are without question.
To spend an afternoon with him should be on every exhibitors list of
things you must do. A few of his accomplishments: finished his first
Doberman in 1977, handled three different Dobermans to BOB at the
DPCA Nationals,
has won BOB with a Doberman six times at Westminster KC, has handled
dogs to at least 220 all breed BIS, has handled a Doberman to BIS at
Westminster KC, and has judged our Top 20 and Futurity at our
National.
This year Mr. Linton will do his presentation and the first 20
people that sign up by sending in their check and registration form
will be invited to bring their personal dog to work with him. Due to
space this year and time allotment this is the number that we can
fit into the room. All other registrants will be able to watch and
audit the seminar. Questions will be taken by Mr. Linton and
demonstrations with the dogs.
