Puppy Development Series
About This Series
The DPCA Public Education Committee is proud to present an educational series on puppy development and socialization.
We believe responsible breeding is key to preserving the breed’s integrity while producing healthy, well-socialized Doberman puppies. Every breeding decision should prioritize health, temperament, and conformation. Learning from an experienced mentor is invaluable in this process.
We’re grateful to Susan James for allowing us to feature photos and videos of one of her litters in this series. The dam, Ch. Raindance Genesis of Marquis (“Genesis”), was bred by Susan and Chelsea James along with Linda and Kelly Marquis. The sire, Ch. Marquis Retribution (“Dante”), was bred by Linda and Kelly Marquis.
Follow along as we document Genesis and her puppies’ journey – from 10 days before birth to 10 weeks of age. We hope you enjoy watching these incredible moments of growth and discovery!
A Century of Devotion
About This Series
On October 15, 2008, at the Doberman Pinscher Club of America’s National in Topeka, Kansas, a remarkable moment in history unfolded. WWII War Dog Handlers arrived to a flag waving tribute – surrounded by hundreds of Dobermans and their devoted owners.
2008 marked 100 years of the Doberman Pinscher in the United States. There was no better time to honor the handlers and the brave Dobermans who served alongside them.
