Regional Bitches – Estelle Corr

Estelle has been involved in the sport of pure breeds dogs since 1990, when she purchased her first show dog. She has been a DPCA member since 1992 and is a long-time member of the LIDPC, including holding multiple offices within that chapter club. At present, she is serving as the Vice President of the LIDPC. She started judging as of 2012 and is currently working on her license for additional working breeds.
Estelle has been exhibiting Dobermans in conformation over 30 years. Under the KALORA prefix, she has bred 50 AKC champions to date and numerous BISS Winners, Group Winners, DPCA AOM Winners, BOS at Westminster KC and many other prestigious winners, including several outside of the USA. She is also the breeder of 2022 Mexican Doberman National Specialty BOB winner. Notably, Estelle is also a DPCA APEX Award breeder, a ROM accumulative breeder, and the proud breeder of over 20 AKC Advanced Performance titled dogs. She is deeply honored to be the breeder of over 60 Longevity certified dogs, 38 Bred for Longevity 1 dogs, and 14 Bred for Longevity 2 dogs.
Estelle resides on Long Island, NY, with her husband, Keith, and their daughter, Alora. She retired from Metlife over 20 years ago. Outside of the dog world, Estelle leads a busy and active life, helping her husband run their landscaping business and flip real estate investment homes. Estelle also shares her love of horses with her daughter, entering the horse show world when Alora was just five years of age. She says, “My first love are horses and I have enjoyed every crazy action-packed moment of being a horse show mom! This role comes with a multitude of jobs including official horse groom, professional horse hauler, ringside boot shiner, and cheerleader (just to name a few).”
Her family’s love and support of her dog hobby has allowed her to be successful as a breeder. She notes, “I am excited to have been invited to judge at the 2022 DPCA Regional and I am looking forward to my assignment. Thank you to all the DPCA members that voted for me.”

Regional Intersex & Junior Showmanship – Judith Brown

I am honored to be judging the DPCA Regional Specialty. I have a long history with the DPCA, serving 20+ years on the Board of Directors as President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Recording Secretary and multi-term Director. I served many years on the Show Coordinating Committee, helping to plan many National Specialties. Dobermans have been part of my life for 52 years. I am a Lifetime Achievement recipient, an AKC Outstanding Sportsman and last but not least, the recipient of the Pat Doniere “Good Guy Award”.

National Futurity & Maturity – Cindy Lane Smith

Cynthia Lane-Smith was born in Northern California, lived a number of years in Southern California before moving to the Midwest in 1991. She has bred Best in Show winners in three different breeds spanning three different groups. She is the proud breeder of the All Time Top Winning Rhodesian Ridgeback in the history of the breed. Among the accomplishments in the same breed were National winners, futurity winners, multiple group winners and at least three top ten representatives. In Pointers she is fortunate to have co-breed Multiple National winners, Best in Show Winners, #1 rated Pointers and numerous top five Pointers. Of particular note the only male Pointer she ever kept is on the all time top producing list as are at least two of her brood bitches. She was lucky to own BIS/BISS Ch. Marjetta Reatta of Kintyre from puppyhood to death. Not only a top winner but top producer as well. It is one thing to be a top winner but a waste if you cannot carry on that gene pool to the following generations. In Dobermans she has also accomplished multiple breeder/owner/handler Best in Show winners, multiple group winners, National Award of Merit winners and notable producers with Jagerdobes founder Paul Croley. They along with Debbie Owen were fortunate enough to breed the 2021 #1 Doberman (all breeds) with more BIS win than any other Doberman that year. Breeding dogs that are representative of their breeds is a great honor. It requires so much thought and dedication to each standard, health issues and a temperament that will allow companions to have life long homes. A salute to each breeder here exhibiting; you are the backbone to the industry of purebred dogs.

National Owner Handled Sweeps – Hiroko Lee

It is an honor to be selected by the membership to judge National Owner Handler sweeps at the DPCA National.

My husband, Skip, and I purchased our first Dobe in 1979 and have adored the breed ever since. With limited breeding (total eleven litters) we have owned or bred 42 champions. All were owner/handled. A majority were obedience titled and 13 earned ROM.

I have been a member of the Doberman Pinscher Club of Hawaii for over 40 years and DPCA since 1986. I have attended every national, except two, since 1986.

National Dogs – Nancy Christensen

Above all, a humble and sincere thank you to the DPCA and the membership who allowed me the great honor of judging this National Specialty. To be elected by the membership to judge at a National is the greatest honor for a breeder judge.

My first Doberman came into my heart and home in the summer of 1974, I have never been without at least one Doberman since that time.

With my Dobermans, I have competed and titled in many areas of performance- AKC obedience to UD/OTCH points, agility titles and Schutzhund to ScH3. Dobermans of my breeding have been titled and competitive in conformation, tracking, flyball, agility, obedience, dancing, nosework and Schutzhund. I have been extremely proud of the Renejade dogs who have certified and been used in SAR.

My current Doberman is AKC/UKC CH Von Luka the Doppler Effect CD ROM CGC TKN, Dora, who resides with me as head of security.

I have served on a number of DPCA committees, currently on the Top 20 Agility committee, and served on the DPCA Board from 2006 to 2010.

I was approved by AKC in February 2006 as a Doberman judge. It has been a great honor to judge at the DPCA National Specialty in 2009 and 2017, the 2009 Top 20 and Pre-National show in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the 2013 Queensland Dobermann Specialty in Brisbane, Australia, a Regional Specialty in Calgary, Alberta Canada in 2014, as well as specialties and shows across the USA. My greatest enjoyment of judging is simply being privileged to see and touch all the beautiful Dobermans! I love them all and hate to have to choose just one!

National Bitches – Harry “Butch” Schulman

Butch has been a member of DPCA since 1986. His focus has always been on his family, military service, and professional career. He grew up in the sport of purebred dogs. His parents had top-winning Collies, Lhasa Apsos, and Doberman Pinschers. Butch fell in love with the Doberman Pinscher breed through his mother, Dorothy Schulman’s dogs and the many Dobermans he admired in his mentor, Charlie Cooper’s string of dogs. Butch started handling in Junior Showmanship and regular classes at age 10. He handled his parents’ Collie bitch to Best of Opposite Sex at the 1972 Collie Club of America National Specialty when he was 12 years old. Butch handled many dogs growing up including but not limited to Collies, Doberman Pinschers, Old English Sheepdogs, West Highland White Terriers, German Shepherds, and the top-winning Bullmastiff, Ch. Mr. U’s Music Man, who won the Working Group at the Westminster Kennel Club while Butch was deployed with the U.S. Air Force to support military operations in the Persian Gulf. Butch has only bred one Doberman Pinscher litter, but his primary focus was on his Collies. He has been a member of the Collie Club of America for 30 years, served as a District Director on their Board, 2001 National Specialty Show Treasurer, 2016 National Specialty Show Co-Chair, 2022 National Specialty Facilities & Grounds Chair, and two terms as their Ethics Committee Chair. He spearheaded a successful Take the Lead event in 2016 contiguous to the Louisville Dog Show Cluster. Butch has bred numerous Collie champions under the Strathmoor prefix including National Specialty winners, Top 10, Group and BISS winning dogs. He currently judges three Groups (Working, Herding, Sporting), 26 Terrier breeds, 5 Non-Sporting breeds, Best in Show, Juniors, and Miscellaneous. Butch has judged many National and Regional Specialty shows including but not limited to the 2013 Collie Club of Japan National, 2013 Shetland Sheepdog Club of Japan National, 2014 Doberman Pinscher Club of America Regional, 2017 Berger Picard Club of America National, 2017 Canaan Dog Club of America National, 2018 American Bouvier des Flandres Club Regional, 2018 Giant Schnauzer Club of America Regional, 2019 Collie Club of America National, 2019 Belgian Sheepdog Club of America Regional, 2019 Collie Club of Germany National, and the 2021 Old English Sheepdog Club of America National. Butch is a veteran of the United States Air Force with 23 years of service to our country, and a graduate of Air Command & Staff College and Air War College. He served as a Vice Commander, Operations Director, and Executive Officer in many leadership roles within the Air Force from Aeromedical Evacuation to the Medical Center Group Command level. He retired at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel after numerous deployments during his military career. Butch has a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Economics from the University of Louisville and a Master’s degree in Public Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Policy from George Washington University. He currently works as the Vice Chairman and Executive Director for the Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences at the University of Louisville, where he was selected as Employee of the Year for the School of Medicine in 2019. Butch and his wife Robin have four grown children (two sons and two daughters) and one granddaughter, who are all their pride and joy. Butch said, “I feel honored and privileged to be selected to judge bitches at the 2022 DPCA National Specialty. It is a dream of a lifetime which has now come true.”

National Intersex – Alisa Brotherhood

Alisa Brotherhood has bred and owned Dobermans for over 35 years and has bred 80+ Champions under the Touchstone kennel name. She worked as a professional handler showing primarily Dobermans as well as finishing a number of other breeds. Alisa has limitedly bred Whippets and is a Breeder of Merit in Dobermans as well as Whippets. Alisa was approved to Judge Dobermans and All Breed Junior Showmanship in 2018 and she is currently licensed for 12 additional breeds.
Alisa has judged at the Doberman Pinscher Club of America National several times judging Futurity, Top 20 and Regional Sweepstakes.
She has been active in several dog clubs, including five years on the Board of DPCA and Chapter Club Secretary. She is very active in the DPC of Houston since 1976 and has held most every office, more than once. She’s currently a member of Travis County Kennel Club and Texas Working Dog Association.
Alisa resides in Lago Vista, Texas with her husband John and 4 Dobermans and 1, 13 year old crusty Whippet. Still breeding on a limited basis and actively showing in conformation and other performance venues such as dock diving, Nosework, and Coursing.
I’m deeply honored and humbled to be chosen to judge Intersex at this year’s National. I’d like to sincerely thank the Membership for giving me the opportunity to judge the breed that I’ve been lucky enough to share my life with all these years.

I live in Knoxville, Tennessee with wife Brenda and Dobies Niki and Livi, both agility dogs; Niki a retired agility champion, and Livi actively campaigning. I am a retired Electrical Engineer having spent my working career in Nuclear Power Plants and Brenda is a retired Interior Designer.. Brenda and I are now traveling the country quite a bit in an RV with the dogs and my favorite guitar. I have been an AKC Agility Judge since 2010 and have judged over 300 agility trials including a DPCA National and a DPCA Top Twenty. I’m honored to be able to judge the wonderful Teams attending the DPCA 2022 National and Agility TT.
